Riftforge Online RPG Easterhino mount

Riftforge is pleased to announce the creation of the first super rare mount, imaginatively called the Super Rare Rhino by the Guardians (or colloquially known as the Easterhino).

The new mount’s special features include a vastly increased hearing range as well as the first fully operational camouflage suit, apart from the ones used by the elite assassins. The suit assumes the Easterhino is ridden anywhere pink or purple.

The only downside is that this new mount is still very temperamental, so additional training is required before one rides it to battle. To get a passing mark on the test, it needs to go a mile without breaking a single egg.

Remember to sign up below for early delivery of the first fully trained Easterhinos. Hopefuls estimate the Egg-Mile test will be passed within a year!

Note: Easterhinos first appeared on April 21, 2011 as a teaser unit to mark Easter. No actual Easterhino mounts exist yet but other special mounts in more subdued colors will be introduced soon.

Assassins: Online RPG gameSimilar to most strategy games, the effectiveness of a Riftforge commander is measured by how effectively starting resources are converted to special resources.

The starting resource for each archetype bears a different name but it works out similarly to mana in other RPGs. It starts full and is depleted when skills are used. Read more »

Flying Eighty-Eights: Riftforge online
The Flying Eighty-Eights,
Elite Ranger Detachment

The first couple of ballistae have been captured, dismantled, and hauled all the way from a forward Caldarian outpost.

Once Ranger command got word of it, they immediately requisitioned them to include a ballista-training course in the Rangers’ curriculum at Mistral Isle.

Taking full advantage of the increased range and armor penetration of the ballistae, the first operational battalion distinguished itself again and again. They earned their nickname during the defensive operations in grid 88, Riftforge’s home turf. Read more »

Nightblades: Riftforge online
Nightblades in broad daylight

The Templar network of agents allows them to recruit “local assets” and enroll them in their indoctrination program.

Rumors abound about a secret training track with a notoriously low survival rate that produces a handful of elite Black Ops operatives.

Nightblades

The Nightblade's captain was held in the Order’s dungeon for a month. He was charged with organizing his elite assassins into squads that were robbing small merchants at night. The charges were dropped after all three witnesses were found dead at first light.

Unlike the charges, the nickname stuck. As did the captain, who liked the Order’s dungeon so much, he moved his headquarters there. His assassins’ lair is now a sanctified place, ideal for Aguta worship. Read more »

Wreckers: Online RPG game
Wreckers on patrol

When it comes to equipment, the Mercantile Guild has access to the best of the best.

It is no surprise that the best loot ends up in the Guild's vault, considering they control all imports from Manirak.

Bridgeburners

These elite grenadiers have built a fearsome reputation, despite the fact that ice bridges on Manirak are rather slow to catch a flame. They argue the name comes from their complete dedication to the Guild, which requires them to sever all family ties.

Bartenders disagree. If you ask them, the bridgeburners party like their days are numbered, which leaves no time for family duties. Read more »

Reavers: Online RPG
A winged Reaver vanguard

The Sisterhood spares no expense to get their hands (fingers or no fingers) on the best battalions Riftforge has to offer.

The harsh reality is that on Manirak, even the most formidable Sisters live and die by the sword. It always pays off to have the best swords by one's side.

Reavers

The Reavers are a female-only battalion of elite raiders recruited directly from the Sisterhood’s acolytes. They are often credited with the initial introduction and subsequent perfection of hit-and-run tactics.

The flip side is that the Sisterhood is flooded with complaints from regular troops claiming that when the battle heats up, the Reavers focus on the running part a lot more than they do on hitting the enemy. Read more »
